1972 Studied at Kyoto University, Department of Agriculture, Landscape Design Laboratory
1972 Kankyo Jigyo Keikaku Kenkyusho (Kyoto Office)
1975 Studied with Asazo Kojima, Japanese traditional gardener
1978 Lecturer at Kyoto University of Art and Design
Established Kyoto Zokeisha
1980 Renovated the garden at Kamakura Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Temple
1982 Established Japan Landscape Architecture, Inc. in Rockville, Maryland.
1985 Qualified as a landscape architect in USA
1990 Peter Walker and Partners, Inc.
1998 Nikken Sekkei Ltd.
2001 Established Mitani Landscape Studio,Inc.
