■ Earth Bricks won the Chairman of Better Living Award in the new architecture category at the Institute for Building Environment and Energy Conservation’s Fifth Sustainable Housing Award.

■ Atelier Tekuto has joined with Mizukami Architecture Design Office and life+shelter associates to form TeMaLi, a new collaborative design team. This January, the team’s proposal won first prize in the final round of a design competition for post-disaster public housing in the city of Kamaishi.

■ "Yasuhiro Yamashita x Atelier Tekuto Tomorrow: The Challenge of Architecture" was on display at TOTO Gallery MA from Oct. 13 through Dec. 22, 2012. Pictures of the exhibit may be viewed here.

Yasuhiro Yamashita x Atelier Tekuto's new book, Tomorrow: The Challenge of Architecture (TOTO Publishing), was recently released in conjunction with an exhibit at TOTO Gallery MA.  The book includes 20 of the firm’s major projects along with a comprehensive overview of activities up through the present. Taiwan's Garden City Publishers has released a new retrospective of work by Atelier Tekuto. The book includes Chinese, Japanese, and English descriptions of important projects, up to the recent Earth Bricks project.
