Hiroshi Naito Lecture: Searching for Home
Tokyo-based architect Hiroshi Naito has designed a wide range of public, private, and corporate spaces, many of them notable for their striking and creative use of exposed beams. His projects include the Sea Fok Museum in Mie, the Chiharu Art Museum in Azumino, and the Bashamichi and Asahikawa stations.
Bio: Born in 1950.Established Naito Archi tects & Associates in 1981. Became an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo in 2001; a professor at the same university in 2003, and served as executive vice-president of the university from 2010 to 2011. Received the '93 AIJ Prize for Design and numerous other awards.
